Pollen is the protein source bees feed to their developing brood. It is also more commonly known to cause allergies, especially in East Tennessee... Each Spring and Fall, we set our pollen traps on our hives. These trays catch the pollen our honeybees carry back to the hive by knocking off the balled up pollen as they crawl back into the hive.
