Propolis is a sticky substance in plants that bees harvest and condense to seal gaps in the hive. Hive boxes have to be pried apart during inspections because of this glue-like substance that seals up any gaps in the hive. This substance is used to protect the hive, and hives who have a lot of propolis seem to be considerably healthier and stronger than hives that barely propolize their hive.

Propolis has been harvested and used in healing applications for as long as man has used honey. See the below journal articles to support the use of propolis in multiple applications. We use propolis in our herbal salves, our throat lozenges, and offer it raw for your own use.
